La Mère High Bowl on Foot

Part of the La Mère collection by Marie Michielssen for Serax — hand‑modelled stoneware rooted in her interest in strong female forms and the domestic ritual of the table. The pieces are conceived vertically, so that each one lifts the food it holds, both literally and figuratively.

The choice of colour changes the character of the piece. In Ebony, the surface absorbs light, making the form the focus — quiet and architectural. In Venetian Red, the hand‑glazed surface carries depth and variation, giving the piece a warmer, more decorative presence. Conceived as a bowl, the generous foot lets it move comfortably between roles — a centrepiece, a fruit bowl, or a vessel within a setting.
