Héléna Marie Vase 04

Part of the Héléna collection by Marie Michielssen — her first body of work in ceramic after more than two decades designing for Serax. The simple, irregularly shaped cylinders carry the meditative quality of working repeatedly by hand.

This vase takes a fuller, more assertive shape than the smaller Héléna pieces while retaining the same softness in profile. The glazed white surface has a matte, slightly speckled quality that allows the form to lead — it works with a small number of stems, but holds its presence when left empty.
